Minimum Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for this qualification is 450 GLH.

The primary outcome of the VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Massage Therapy is to prepare you to enter the specific sector of beauty therapy as a beauty massage therapist. All the units in this qualification relate directly to the specific job role of a beauty massage therapist.

This qualification is designed for learners aged 16 years or over. Entry onto this qualification can be via previous attainment of a Level 2 qualification in beauty therapy and/or a successful skills test and interview.

This is a vocational qualification and includes mandatory units such as body massage, pre-blended aromatherapy, client care, stone therapy, health and safety, Indian head massage.

Throughout this qualification you will develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology, health and safety, client care and massage medium products. You will develop a range of technical skills enabling you to provide a variety of relaxing massage treatments using different techniques. You will also develop interpersonal skills that will assist you to communicate effectively with clients.

Career opportunities include the following:

 – Working in commercial beauty salons, destination spas and day spas
– Working independently/self-employed/mobile/home-based settings

This is one of two VTCT qualifications in beauty massage therapy at Level 3. The other one is VTCT Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy (Massage). Whilst both qualifications qualify you to become a beauty massage therapist, this qualification allows you to gather evidence in a realistic working environment or real working environment without the need for fee paying clients unlike VTCT Level 3 NVQ Qualification.
This qualification is based on the beauty therapy National Occupational Standards (NOS) and is recognised by the UK’s leading professional association, the British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC).
